The 5 Best Pieces From the Off-White Fall 2020 Show & How to Wear Them

As Bella, Gigi and Yolanda Hadid hit the Off-White FW20 runway in Paris, we rounded up the five best fashion and accessory pieces from the show. Find out how to style them for next season here!

The Velvet Bardot Dress

Statement dresses are a must-have for fall/winter – it is party season, after all. Virgil Abloh presented us with an off-kilter take on the classic velvet dress this Paris Fashion Week. In a deep midnight blue hue, this dress has a bardot neckline which, interestingly, is complemented by oversized, leg of mutton sleeves.

Adding a further sultry edge to the dress is the extreme thigh slit and the diagonally-placed ruffled waistband, which can be cinched with the metal-toned drawcord to create some definition to the silhouette.

How to Wear: Take a cue from the runway and style this already statement-making dress with some standout, chunky jewelry. When it comes to footwear, almost anything will go perfectly with this piece. Choose from sharp stiletto sandals or pointed-toe heeled boots for a glamorous look or add some tough-girl appeal with platform lug-sole boots

The Updated Trench Coat

The trench coat is the perfect example of a truly timeless classic, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need a little reinventing every now and then. This iteration in a magnolia tone focuses on clean tailoring and sharp details, ensuring anyone who wears this will look instantly – and effortlessly – put together.

The concealed front fastening adds to the sleek aesthetic, as do the curved storm flaps and the sharp collar. Off-White’s trademark metal hardware appears on the waist belt and adjustable cuffs for a modern finish.

How to Wear: This trench coat will be the focal point of any outfit, but wear it with muted, tonal pieces to truly give it the attention it deserves. Opting for tailored black pants and dark boots will complement both the structured silhouette and creamy colorway.

The Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Sneakers

It wouldn’t be an Off-White show without some sneakers. Abloh has utilized previous runways to offer a coveted glimpse into his upcoming collaborations with Nike and on this occasion, he debuted an all-new version of the Air Jordan 4.

The chunky sneaker has a smooth upper, constructed from panels of cream leather. Creamy detailing on the sole adds to the neutral look, which is offset by the signature visible air bubble and “AIR” text branding in black. These chic trainers are sure to be in high-demand when the yet-to-be-revealed release date rolls around.

How to Wear: If you’re lucky enough to cop a pair of these collaborative Air Jordan 4s when the drop date comes around, you’ll have the instant cool-girl seal of approval, whatever you pair them with. With its neutral coloring and bulky silhouette, we’ll be styling ours an oversized blazer and slouchy, tailored pants for a retro-chic menswear-inspired look.

The Cutout Dress

While fall/winter may not be the ideal time for baring flesh, Off-White’s cutout dress is worth making an exception for. In a crisp, all-white finish, this fitted dress has a smooth, hip-baring cut yet still remains an elegant sartorial option.

The slight curved detail on one shoulder strap gives this subtle dress a striking finish. It’s a must-have for fans of a minimal aesthetics who favor cut and silhouette above all else.

How to Wear: Thanks to the simple cut and monochromatic color palette, this dress is the perfect blank canvas for accessorizing. Don’t be afraid to go over-the-top with statement jewelry – you could even take a note from model Carolyn Murphy on the runway and go full ’90s by teaming this dress with a gold-chain belt slung low upon the hips.

The Neon Bag

Off-White is injecting your FW20 wardrobe with an unmissable flash of color, thanks to this neon twist on some of its most coveted bags. The fluorescent orange hue finish alone is eye-catching enough, but the bags also have additional quirky design details, like circular cutouts, that add even more appeal.

The neon bag is the perfect way to instantly brighten any muted fall outfits – and your mood – as the colder months come back around.

How to Wear: Give the neon bag the attention it deserves by keeping the rest of your outfit decidedly monochromatic. Imagine this burst of orange set against a sleek little black dress or all-white pantsuit – it’s a look that’s sure to get you noticed!
