The attendees every designer wants front-row.

There are regular celebrities, and then there are fashion celebrities. The names and faces that the style set holds dear aren’t your usual rotation of A-listers, either. Some are acting alums who have found themselves in designers’ good graces, landing ambassadorships and front-row seats at their shows. (Cue Katie Holmes in Khaite, at Khaite). Others are editors, influencers, and buyers that have worked their way up from industry newcomers to full-on street style stars. (Looking at you, Tyler McCall). These names have become the need-to-know Fashion Week guests that every designer wants in their front row, and every photographer scours the entrance of Spring Studios for.

So far this season, there have been the usual suspects, such as influencer Leonie Hanne and model Kendell Jenner—but not without a few surprises. The latest shows have welcomed a few dark horses (Miss Fame; Sarita Choudhury) who brought a much-needed breath of fresh air to the style scene. If you’re wondering who’s worth keeping an eye on this season, look no further than our definitive list. Below, discover the need-to-know celebrities of Fashion Week that you can follow for years to come.

1.

Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes' style trajectory is one for the history books. Starting from humble beginnings on Dawson's Creek, Holmes' personal aesthetic was an extension of her girl-next-door image. Think: classic T-shirt and jean pairings. Over the years, Holmes has truly come into her own as a fashion icon. She is often seen matching classic staples with contemporary pieces, a knack that was put on full display via her Khaite cashmere bra and cardigan moment circa 2019. It’s this natural flair for dressing that has made her a mainstay at Fashion Week—it's no longer a surprise to see her at shows, but an expectation.

Holmes proved this with her arrival at the Tory Burch show—aka the all-American brand for the all-American girl. She donned a tan ribbed dress (straight from the label’s Pre-Fall collection) and topped it with a white double-breasted coat and a monogrammed bag. All in all, it was a pared-back look with a maximalist edge—one we will remember for seasons to come.

2.

Sarita Choudhury

"And just like that," Saria Choudhury has proven she's a fashion force. It’s typical at Fashion Week to see the stars of the latest talked-about TV series appearing on the front row, and this season was no different. Though Choudhury has been on the acting scene for quite some time, her portrayal of Seema Patel in the Sex and the City reboot has placed her in the style limelight. For her arrival at the Ulla Johnson Fall/Winter 2022 show, Choudhury embodied the label’s distinctive style codes perfectly—as outlined above. Donning a free-flowing black halter dress, the actor was a picture of easy sophistication and bohemian sensuality. With rumors swirling over And Just Like That's second season, don’t be surprised if you see Choudhury at Fashion Week for many years to come.

3.

Kat Graham

Actress Kat Graham has slowly, but surely secured her position on the fashion scene, appearing at Paris dinners in Etro and wearing Dior in celebration of Maria Grazia Chiuri. This season, she stunned bystanders with her grand entrance at Khaite’s Fall/Winter 2022 show. Matching a silk high-neck top with black daisy dukes and a camel blazer, Graham nailed New York girl style to a tee, even in the snowy drizzle. It was the type of look that reminded us why we love Fashion Week so much.

4.

Tyler McCall

On top of being editor-in-chief of Fashionista and a Gossip Girl superfan (her weekly Instagram post, #SerenaSaturday, is a must-read), Tyler McCall knows how to serve a look or two. Though she's known for her preppy accents, opting for velvet headbands and pussy-bow blouses, the editor let her wardrobe favorites take a backseat this season, wearing a pared-back ensemble for Proenza Schouler Fall/Winer 2022 show instead. Matching an off-white single-breasted coat with a pair of Nomasei boots, McCall demonstrated the sophisticated power of a clean-slate outfit. Never afraid to add a touch of color to her outfit, McCall accessorized her look with a bougainvillea-hued Lady Dior Bag that matched the floral detailing of her Tanya Taylor dress

5.

Mario Abad

Fashion Week wouldn’t be the same without Paper Magazine’s resident fashion editor Mario Abad. With his keen eye and witty commentary, Abad brings a breath of fresh air to the heated hustle and bustle of Fashion Week. This season, his outfits follow that same individual beat. Going against the storm that dominated London Fashion Week, Abad was seen sporting black culottes, combat boots, a sequin blazer and a leather overcoat, all of which proclaimed he was bringing the party—no matter the weather. Abad accessorized his look with a Prada bag for a look that was equal parts classic and contemporary.

6.

Jenny Walton

Known by some as New York City's real-life Blair Waldorf (sans gossip), fashion illustrator Jenny Walton is as big a Fashion Week celebrity as they come. You can often spot her galavanting around the buzziest shows, expertly leaping over puddles in her platform heels, and being photographed by her husband, French photographer Scott Schuman (aka The Sartorialist) while doing it. While Walton has entered the design ring herself, developing her own jewelry line and collaborating with Ply-Knits on a series of nostalgic twin sets, she still turns up season after season for her favorite brands. Keep an eye out for her prim and proper uptown-girl ensembles across the Fashion Month circuit.

7.

Athena Calderone

It's no secret that the fashion and decor worlds are interdependent. Interior decorator Athena Calderone perfectly personifies this symbiosis. She's known to run in both circles, popping up at the starriest fashion parties (Chanel's fête at Art Basel) and attending the best shows (find her front-row at Zimmermann and Ulla Johnson). Her sensibility is all about a clean palate: neutral hues, comforting shapes, and classic accents lead the charge in her wardrobe and the spaces she decorates.

8.

Evan Mock

Ladies and gentlemen: Evan Mock. The pro-skateboarder turned Gossip Girl star has become one of fashion's cool kids in a matter of months, landing campaigns with Lacoste, Glossier, and Pandora along the way. Still, his loyalty lies with American menswear designer Thom Browne, who Mock wore to the Met Gala in 2021. At Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Week, Mock memorably co-hosted an opening bash at Chapel Bar, Park Avenue's newly opened social club. Needless to say, he's on his way up in the style-set ranks. When he's not wielding Browne's emblematic four stripes, he's donning oversized frames and splashy skater-kid garb. Keep an eye out for him from New York to Paris—last season, he made a late appearance in the City of Lights for Vivienne Westwood's show, flirty tank top and pink purse in tow.

9.

Hari Nef

Whether appearing in And Just Like That or walking the runway for unisex brand Eckhaus Latta, one thing is certain: Hari Nef will make every moment a fashionable one. What makes Nef different from other New York City It-girls is the way that her personality shines through everything she wears. From arriving at Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2022 show in a jacquard orange suit from the label to standing on a public bench for Coach’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection, the multi-hyphenate brings every outfit to life with her cool-girl touch (watch out Chloë Sevigny) and personable smile.

10.

Jeneé Naylor

Jenèe Naylor has risen to fame with her Instagram account @highlowlux, which aims to make fashionable attainable by spotlighting products at a variety of price points. And though New York City is known for its distinctive all-black uniform, the fashion enthusiast made a case for a monochromatic pop of color this season. Naylor paired a Zara yellow suit with a Fendi mini bag for a polished appearance. All we can say is bravo.

11.

Drew Barrymore

As someone that’s been in the limelight since a child, it’s unsurprising that Drew Barrymore knows a thing or two about fashion. While the aughts saw the star opting for grunge-inspired leather trousers and graphic tees (a week doesn't go by where we don’t about that photo of Barrymore and Cameron Diaz drinking champagne), in recent years we have witnessed the star graduate from the alt-girl world in favor of something more sophisticated. Striding into her dear friend Christian Siriano’s show with her signature smile, Barrymore was the picture of easy elegance, sporting a suit straight from the label. Its jewel-toned hue evoked a romantic feeling, one that felt appt for Siriano’s Valentine’s Day weekend presentation.

12.

Eva Chen

Eva Chen has been on the fashion scene for some 20-plus years. Known for sporting classic staples such as Chanel ballet flats and Dior’s Book Tote, which she often showcases in her #evanchenpose snaps, Chen is a point of aspiration for those inside and outside of the industry. However, what makes Chen a true Fashion Week celebrity is how she rejects the tired tropes of elitism that, at times, feel sewn into the fashion world. Always snapped with a smiling face, Chen approaches dressing the same way she does life: with a sense of optimism. Just look at the bright orange Mariam Al Sibai coat she wore to Carolina Herrera’s Fall/Winter 2022 show. What’s more: she does it all, child in hand. Her daughter Ren has appeared front-row at multiple shows.

13.

Ella Emhoff

Ella Emhoff landed on the style scene in the most unexpected way: through a presidential inauguration. Dressed in a crystal-encrusted Miu Miu coat, curly mullet intact, she captured the attention of the fashion press with her unique aesthetic—one that stood out against the backdrop of blowout-heavy presidential pageantry. It’s her understanding of fashion (Emhoff is currently studying at New York’s Parsons School of Design) that has not only secured her position as an undisputed celebrity; it’s also led to an exclusive collaboration with Batsheva and repeat appearances on Balenciaga and Proenza Schouler’s runways.

14.

Miss Fame

With a name like Miss Fame, it’s no surprise that they have made it onto our list of best-dressed celebrities at fashion week. When they are not wow-ing the masses with their artistry, they are serving looks that will stop you dead in your tracks for all the right reasons. Case in point: Miss Fame’s arrival at Fendi’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2022 show. Donning a tie-neck maxi dress, they looked like an ethereal goddess as the silk pink, orange, and brown striped gown flowed effortlessly in the wind. Emblazoned subtly with the Fendi logo, Miss Fame combined the contemporary return of monograms with the classic charm of the Italian fashion house for a look we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
